What if the wire for my Holter heart monitor snaps off it's adhesive pad?

It was the wire with a yellow lead. I snapped it back on and logged the event in my 'patient journal' but should I press a on on the device to reboot it? While on the subject... what if a on on the device accidently gets pressed? Will it ruin the test?
