My Corolla is bumpy! Is this normal?

had the suspension and shocks checked? Sometimes when you buy a car from a Dealer and most of the time with a private sell, that will not be checked. It could also be that one or more of the motor mounts are lose and when you hit even a slight bump because of the weight of the engine bouncing around adds th the bumpy ride. I had a small car ( Ford escort ZX2 ) . When it was new I hardly felt any thing but when the suspension started to go I felt every thing, Now I have a Explorer ( much bigger ) and I have a relativity smooth ride except if I'm going over the train tracks in my town, or I'm on the Ca side of Interstate 40E ( Not the best road ) .
