Did the Bush-Right-Wing Activist Supreme Court Decision Eliminate Half of the Original Second Amendment?

The constitution was written at a time when the authors still remembered the tyrannical government their ancestors escaped to this country from. The reason for the second amendment was indeed for self-defense, mainly to give citizens the right to protect themselves from falling prey to another government like the one they had escaped.
