Which is the better Tom Tom - the " V-range " or the " Start " ?

My Tom Tom 1 has gone faulty, so I'm looking for a replacement Tom Tom. Ive seen Tom Toms' in Argos, but I don't know whether to buy a 'V-range' model or an ' xl starter ' model, they are both similar in price. I only want it for the UK . Any advice much appreciated.
