Extend the vent pipe out through the roof and let it do its job properly. Your apparent sudden change may have been brought about by someone else having something done in their house as you can only have so many air admittance valves(Durgo) on a drainage system as the air has to get out somewhere so if everyone had this flap device fitted everone would have drainage problems.
